The prophet Joseph Smith changed it from the "gospels" to the "testimonies". Luke and Mark wrote such testimonies despite neither of them being eye witnesses. They took the information that was handed to them and wrote their testimony based off of the second-hand information. Likewise, we have been given information and have written our own testimony in the form of abridging the testimonies of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The words themselves have not been altered from the KJV save for JST's which we use. This work is obviously provided for free but is a work in progress so is apt to change over time. Commentary and additions will be added to the bottom of chapters by myself purely for convenience in not having to constantly turn to the Institute manual.
